NBPOL produces and sells world-class oil palm seeds domestically and globally through our West New Britain Dami seed production unit. Thanks to our intensive and extensive oil palm breeding programme, long-term R&D research and a purpose-built tissue culture laboratory, Dami is recognised as a world leader in producing high-grade oil palm planting material.

Our Dami seed production unit oil palm DxP seeds deliver earlier and higher oil yield rates. These seeds are the result of an intensive and extensive germ plasm collaboration from breeding programmes in Malaysia, Cameroon, Congo and Ghana. The absence of significant oil palm diseases on the island of New Britain means Dami can guarantee the seed is 100% disease-free. The Dami breeding programme's parent palm selection process is among the most intensive worldwide and is a crucial factor in exceptional seed cultivation.
With proper management input, Dami seeds can yield more than 30 tonnes per hectare of fresh fruit bunches less than 48 months after planting. The material ensures an early return on investment and maximum profitability throughout the entire lifecycle and its high productivity enables more efficient and sustainable land use. NBPOL’s Dami seeds are commercially available to other growers.
In partnership with the Sime Darby Plantation research team, NBPOL continuously pursues long-term research and development programmes, including tissue culture and molecular markers research. NBPOL is spearheading the SuperFamily® seeds programme and will roll out the SDP
GenomeSelect™ programme in the coming years.
